Coventry University, UK - A major refurbishment project for their Art & Design department within the
Ellen Terry Building in the city centre. Works involved a complete strip-out of many existing
studio areas, design and installation of new Rehearsal, Recording, Radio and Television
Studios to current industry standards and to a high acoustic and isolation specification.
Above is Studio 3 installed with a new Audient console and Protools.
The entire project took 6 months and was completed October 2006-in time for the new term.

Studio 1 is configured with Air6 5.1 surround monitoring and we supplied and installed an SSL
AWS digital console in conjunction with Digital Garage who also carried out an extensive
cabling installation to many areas.

Live Room 1 has views into both Studio 1 and Studio 2 with all tie-lines covered within a
central patch system. Headphone monitoring is housed in a neat, wall mounted unit.

Live Room 3A has an odd shape that follows the building and this makes and excellent
Drum Room linked visually to Studio 3.

Live Room 3B on the other side of Studio 3 provides ample space for a full band and all
Recording and Rehearsal areas are fully isolated to NR20.

Studio 2 features Control 24/Protools HD set-up with monitoring on Dynaudio BM15s
The isolation Lobby behind doubles as a large Voice Booth .

On the 1st floor, 113 Live Area provides ample space for group teaching or music recording.
All areas are fully air conditioned.

The new Performance space in 128 can cater for up to 60 people for drama, rehearsal and as a large Recording
area. It has it's own small Control Room for local sessions and can be linked to the 3rd floor
main studios to take advantage of the PT HD systems on larger projects.

On the ground floor we re-constructed the main TV Studio to provide better isolation and Air Conditioning.

The TV Gallery features a new desk and a complete re-cable.

G20 is a fully digital Radio Studio for self-op and talks production using the Lawo play-out system.

The room is fully DDA compliant and is large enough for a separate 'round-table'
session if required.

Also on the ground floor we installed an analogue Radio Studio based around the Airmate desk.
Adjacent is a fully isolated Talks Booth large enough for 6 round table speakers.

And finally 2 x new Music Tech labs on the 3rd Floor (the Imac lab shown above) and a new
Student Lounge on the Ground Floor with Internet, Audio Visual Entertainment and comfy seating.
